About Mtskheta - Ancient Capital

Mtskheta, just 20 kilometers from Tbilisi, was the capital of the early Georgian Kingdom of Iberia and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This ancient city is the spiritual heart of Georgia, home to the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (where Christ's robe is believed to be buried) and the Jvari Monastery, both masterpieces of medieval architecture.

The confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers adds to the city's scenic beauty and historical significance.
